Here what a good tile job looks like.

Notice that the lines between the tiles are straight and the spacing between tile is even and consistant.

Notice in the corners how the first tile in each row has been cut and that full tiles are not used until the second row over. This tells you that there was careful layout planning before any tiles were applied. Many less experiences tilers will simply start in a corner and take whatever they get at the outside edges.

Notice how the pattern in the forground is repeated inside the alcove.
